Einai Sasa’s Food Journal: Entry 22
April 14th, 2025 Monday
6:20AM: I just ate one tangerine, a few walnuts, and some cereal with unsweetened oat-milk for breakfast.
3:59PM: I have just finished my dinner. A few low carb tortillas with avocados, some carrots, and some tomatoes. I have trashed the peppers, they do not look too good.
7:36PM: Physical Being: “How much apple cider vinegar should I drink with water? What are the complete health benefits of apple cider vinegar? Can I drink apple cider vinegar every morning?”
7:37PM: Gemini: “The appropriate amount of apple cider vinegar (ACV) to drink with water is generally 1 to 2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) mixed with 8 ounces (240 ml) of water. It's crucial to dilute ACV because its high acidity can erode tooth enamel and potentially cause throat irritation. It's also recommended not to exceed more than one serving a day.
While some studies suggest potential health benefits of apple cider vinegar, it's important to note that more extensive research is often needed to confirm these claims. Here are some of the purported health benefits:
* Blood Sugar Regulation: Some research indicates that ACV may help improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels after meals, which could be beneficial for individuals with type 2 diabetes. However, it should not replace diabetes medications and a healthy lifestyle.
* Cholesterol Reduction: A few studies suggest that daily consumption of ACV might help lower cholesterol levels.
* Killing Harmful Bacteria: The acetic acid in vinegar is known to kill pathogens, including some strains of bacteria like E. coli. It has traditionally been used for cleaning, disinfecting, and as a food preservative.
* Weight Management: Some small studies have shown a potential link between ACV consumption and modest weight loss, possibly by promoting feelings of fullness. However, this effect is not consistently proven and should not be relied upon as a primary weight loss method.
* Support Healthy Microbiome: ACV contains probiotics that may contribute to a healthy gut microbiome.
However, it's important to be aware of the potential side effects of consuming apple cider vinegar, especially in excess or undiluted:
* Tooth Enamel Erosion: The high acidity can wear down tooth enamel over time, leading to sensitivity and decay.
* Digestive Issues: In some people, ACV can cause or worsen heartburn, acid reflux, nausea, and indigestion. It may also delay stomach emptying, which can be problematic for individuals with gastroparesis.
* Low Potassium Levels (Hypokalemia): Some reports suggest that regular consumption of large amounts of ACV can lead to or worsen low potassium levels.
* Drug Interactions: ACV may interact with certain medications, such as insulin and diuretics.
* Bone Loss: There is some anecdotal evidence linking long-term, excessive ACV consumption to bone loss.
* Throat Irritation or Burns: Drinking undiluted ACV can irritate or burn the throat.
Regarding drinking apple cider vinegar every morning:
It is generally considered safe to drink diluted apple cider vinegar in the morning, as long as you adhere to the recommended dilution (1-2 tablespoons in 8 ounces of water) and don't exceed the daily limit. Some people prefer to take it in the morning for a potential metabolism boost, while others take it before meals to aid digestion and blood sugar control.
It is always best to consult with your doctor or a registered dietitian before incorporating apple cider vinegar into your daily routine, especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking medications. They can provide personalized advice based on your individual health needs.”

3:14PM: I have just eaten two burritos that consisted of one with avocados and black beans and the other with just plain avocados. I am also going to eat some vegan patties. And some carrots.
3:36PM: Focus: “What stores have already prepared black bean salads?”
3:37PM: Gemini: “I found some stores that might have pre-made black bean salads. I'll check each one to see if they offer it and provide you with a list.
Based on my search, here's what I found:
* Simple Simon's Bakery & Bistro: Their online menu includes a Vegetarian Black Bean Chili, which might be similar to a black bean salad. It's worth checking if they offer a cold salad version.
* Clark's Nutrition & Natural Foods Market: They have recipes for black bean salads and sell black beans, so it's possible they might have pre-made options. It's best to call them to confirm.
* Goodwin's Organic Foods and Drinks: They have an "Org Prepared Food Salad" listed, so it's possible they might have a black bean salad as a prepared salad option.
* Ralphs: They have a recipe for Black Bean Mango Salad and Cedars Black Bean Salad. It is possible they have a pre-made version of either of these.
I recommend calling these stores to confirm the availability of pre-made black bean salads. Would you like me to find their contact information?”
5:27PM: From now on I am going to live off of salads. Both fruit salads and black bean salads. And my goal is to get the salads that are already prepared.
5:31PM: Now going to post this entry….
